I stopped by your site for a peek and I have to say you have some very mature and astute observations.
I look forward to reading more of your blog in the future.

I agree with the above. A random Google search on Mac Danzig brought me here to read your interview and I stuck around. Keep it up.

    Love the blog. Thanks.

The Nick Diaz article regarding scar tissue and the dog with multiple organs was classic. One of the few stories that I have LOL for in a while. Keep up the coverage.

Hey Ben, over here in the UK we’re still in the Dark Ages when it comes to MMA.
So much so that our politicians are still trying to get it banned as “human cockfighting” as shown in this local TV news report:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zz0j-_Gs-_w
However, the sport is on the rise and maybe with advocates like this guy Cougar (a philosophy student at Glasgow University) it has found a worthy advocate.

Apparently there are now 5000 practitioners and rising …

Hey Ben - not sure why Scott Douglas think’s we’re in the dark ages here in the UK, we’re of course behind the time but dark ages… hmmm. Just wanted to say it’s nice to read a blog without the sensalitionism, hype & headline grabbing that often surrounds forums/blogging. I loved your piece on Tank/Kimo recently and the following week watched Shamrock get battered in the first round here in London. Had similar thoughts to your blog really.

Anyway, top drawer blog - keep up the good work and tally ho old chap.

I appreciate your blog with intelligent commentary on MMA - there’s a lot of noise about MMA online, but not much of it is worth reading.

You come across as a pretty smart and informed guy, but I find that your articles too often dwell on the negative (although I did particularly enjoy your beatdown piece on the Kimbo Slice/Tank Abbott fight). I’d like to see you write from a more constructive mindset more often. I’d like to read about what UFC/WEC/EliteXC are doing right or which fighters have actually got their heads screwed on right. Surely there’s got to be some good news?

For what it’s worth, I preferred your previous website’s look to this current beige/tan/burgundy look. I just thought it looked cleaner. This new scheme seems a little too sedate and serious - like for a blog on wine-tasting or something.

I hope you take my minor criticisms in the spirit intended. I look forward to reading more of your articles. It’s very tough to find intelligent discussion of the sport and this is the only place I’ve found so far.

    Cheers.

Great site. I think its great to see another Astoria-based writer doing so well for himself and seeing someone representing the sport with a view of a knowledgeable fan is really encouraging. I will definitely bookmark and keep coming back.

I enjoyed the Jorge fight. It took me back to my high school days where I participated in some fist fights. Always with Bullies and always me winning. If you look at history, you will find that Jack Dempsey use to participate in organized bare knuckel fist bar fights, just to raise enough money to eat. Their is a bit of a thrill in a street fight. An adrenilene high that can not be matched by any type of drug. Good luck to Masdival, he will be world champion someday in his age division.
